The Live Your Life Series: Gratitude Journal!

Hello Friends!

Effective April 1, 2014, I officially began writing in a 'Gratitude Journal' -  this will occur for 21 glorious days!

Perhaps it will be extended further than that -- but, that's stretching it.

I am addicted to complaining!!

(Here enters thought bubble: Wonder if there's a such thing as complainaholics anonymous?)

I digress...

So, the jest is to help me express gratitude over the many miraculous things that occur in my day.

Friends - I believe in miracles!!!

And so should you -- have at it. Start your journal! It's never too late.

Won't you join me? It's going to be fun! Ok, done. Good-bye :)

TB 2011: Sing In The Rain

I have been feeling a tad bit under the weather this past week and lately it has been raining a whole heck of a lot. Needless to say, I don't enjoy feeling miserable -- especially when its raining, makes me uncomfortable and extremely tired. So, I created an equation.  I call it the 'not feeling well' equation.
Here it is: under the weather (ill) + continuous rain (outdoors) = singing and dancing.
Does this mean I'll sing and dance outside in the rain? Heck no. Is this a real equation? Of course not.

Here's where the thought bubble comes in:
My immediate thought went to the scene where Gene Kelly is singing and dancing in the rain -- all in the name of love.  It's cute -- and kind of funny watching a grown man dance and sing in the street.
So, love and enjoy this scene where Gene Kelly is feeling oh so good - Singing In The Rain.

As always, Enjoy!

TB: Before, During, and After ... A Day of Glorious Work

Tomorrow begins yet another glorious work week. So I thought why not share with you a few songs that give a decent account of how I feel about my beloved job.  And, here we go...

BEFORE WORK:

"War" by Edwin Starr (1969) -- this song reflects my feelings while on the road heading to the venue. It also helps me prepare for a 'war of complete and utter boredom' -- see below clip.

Virtual Machine - The Shopping Mirror

*The Innovative Monster: BlacBlouse*
January 2011

What are your thoughts on virtual shopping, at home...using your very own personalized floor length mirror?

The Buzz: Virtual mirrors: view your image, in the mirror 'wearing' clothes as if you were actually trying them on.  There are folks in the scientific world predicting this very thing to become a reality in the next two or three years.

The BlacBlouse Spin: This mirror would have the ability to scan your body's dimensions -- enabling the device to search for and suggest apparel best suited for YOUR body type. The mirror would also have the capability of suggesting colors that work well with your skin tone.  The personalization feature would also include saving the websites of your favorite clothing stores, designers, and boutiques -- shoes and accessories included.  The mirror: touchscreen -- giving you the ability to purchase items and have it shipped to your mailing address. So, how about it - would you want your very own virtual shopping mirror?  Is this a good idea or is it just plain creepy?

Globally yours,

BlacBlouse

I long for the day that I will love what I do...and get paid a hefty sum doing it. That is all.

Video: Mr. Ed Intro (Opening Theme)

Friends, this little jingle has been on my mind for DAYS! So, I thought...why not create a blog post about it and insert the video for others to sing along with me. Yes, why not. After all it's just a blog -- my blog. Enjoy!

Thought Bubble: Fitness

The phrase "It's never too late to get an education" holds true for fitness -- It's never too late to be fit. The word fitness has been on my mind for years. Pre-me was a fitness junkie. I worked out constantly...my eating habits were on point. Then it happened...I hit the fitness snooze button. I dedicated ten years of my life to further my education without regard to my health. And that my friends is when the pounds started packing on...I didn't eat foods that were complimentary to my body and most importantly, I stopped working out. In essence, I was not taking care of myself.

Fast forward to the present I now have four college degrees...and stiff joints.  Enough is enough. It's never too late my friends to get fit. I owe it to myself to do the right thing for my body, mind, and spirit. Today is the day I am making that commitment: the commitment to be fit. It will definitely be a challenge that I'll embrace with open arms.  It is necessary. It is important. It is long overdue. Long Live a Healthy Life. Long Live Fitness.

Partly Cloudy With a Chance of The Wild Wild West (Boots!)

I'm not a western boot wearing kind of gal. Well, come to think about it some of them I probably would wear. I think western boots look cool, there is something about them that makes me think: hmmm interesting. Which one do you fancy?

Long Live Individual Style. Enjoy!

Thought Bubble: Nothing

I have no idea what to discuss next in my blog.  I like random topics -- so I thought about writing a post on toilet tissue.  Hey, don't knock it. Toilet tissue is an important issue, especially for families of two or more. Not to mention it is a billion dollar business -- so yes, I'd say it is definitely an important topic to discuss...in a blog. Other than that...I have NOTHING. Nada. Zilch. blah.

Thought Bubble: Rejection Letters and Willy Wonka Hair

The perfect clip to view after receipt of a rejection letter. It is indeed their loss, my gain. In other news, Willy Wonka's hair - I can't take it. Hilarious.

Thought Bubble: Shopping

In my world, shopping is serious business. I'm always on the look out for deals or ways to save money.  In fact, a successful shopping experience for me is to spend less than I anticipate spending.  I don't look for brands or labels. I look for quality, style, and fit.

It does not matter what store I purchase an item -- if I like it, I like it (as long as the price is right).  I have never been the type of individual who gets into what someone is wearing, how much they paid, or where they purchased their clothes.  What works for me, may not work for someone else -- vice versa. I shop at various stores around town or online. Whatever suits my fancy...and pockets. Long Live Individual Style™

Excuse me while I pull my hair out...

My friends, I'm telling you I can never get a moment of peace. I'm a wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. People need me. Most times I don't mind. This particular day...mmmm no comment. I love my family. I love my life. I love my friends. [LLIS]

Thought Bubble: Cleaning

I love living in a clean and clutter free home. When you have a family, there is bound to be something that needs to be picked up or cleaned. Today the stair case, baseboards, floors, carpet, and kitchen cabinets had my attention. I have a 'to do' list categorized by floor level and room type. The list helps to keep me focused on each task at hand as I have a tendency to get distracted....ooh look at the pretty butterflies and beautiful flowers!

I digress. Long Live a Clean Home. [LLIS]

Thought Bubble: Africa and Mary Tyler Moore

If I ever have the opportunity to travel to Africa or Europe for that matter -- I would seriously do the Mary Tyler Moore; spin in circles and throw whatever fabulous hat I happen to be wearing in the air.

Thought Bubble: Birthday Madness

Back to the regularly scheduled programming in the morning. Eat well + Exercise. I ate like a mad man and loved every cranking minute of it. After all, it was my birthday.

Yum. Yum. Good for my Birthday Tum Tum. [Long Live Individual Style]
